With the installation course Boxes, Karl Van Welden want to investigate how different artists, each from their own discipline,  approach the question: how does ‘little’ humankind relate to the immensity of the universe? Several internal and external artists are invited, which are each appointed their own box. At first sight every box functions as a work in itself…

One of these boxes is realized by Karl Van Welden with the show INTRO | PLUTO

Supported by the Provence of East-Flanders and the City of Ghent

HOW TO SAVE THE WORLD - SCRAPBOOK

Kafee Vooruit Ghent

4th-14th March 2009

Early January 2008 yutumitu launches the ‘How to save the world Scrapbook’. With this project yutumitu dives into the festival “The game is up! - How to save the World in 10 days”.

Yutumitu wrote a table of contents covering some 40 titles and topics. Whoever felt like it, could claim one title and inscribe as an author  for one page of the Scrapbook.

The authors were appointed one of three artists’ collectives (United Planets, bolwerk, Handelsreizigers in Ideeën) as a support  in the creation of their page.

During the festival “The game is up!” the Scrapbook will be placed in the Vooruit Kafee. Additionally one title will be presented live on each day of the festival.
